Name:
Oliver Sergeant
Age:
20
Where do you live:
Bradford
How did you get into cycling:
My dad always rode and I naturally found an interest in it and wanted to continue myself.
Earliest cycling memory:
Going to the local skatepark and riding on the jumps and humps, probably at about 5… I don’t think I ever got much air!
Favourite training route:
Has to be Halton Gill, the perfect 4 hours and a really versatile route for efforts as well as a steady tap, with a great decent down Malham Cove.
Favourite film:
Big fan of Tom Cruise, so has to be Top Gun.
Favourite music:
I tend to have phases and cycle through periods of listening to the same stuff over and over, especially when on the turbo. Currently cycling through a lot of 90’s and naughties tracks with a bit of Artic Monkeys which I’m sure the Sheffield locals will approve of.
“Must do” pre race ritual:
Wouldn’t say I have much of a pre race ritual, just like a calm approach and to stay focused up to the start and what happens from there happens.
World Tour race you’d most like to ride:
Would have to be Millano San Remo, The longest monument and longest race in road cycling, I think that speaks for itself, whilst it normally starts off fairly tame it certainly builds into a crescendo on the Podgio and has delivered some special battles over recent years. It’s one where you can’t win the race from early on but can certainly loose it and I think that makes it special.
