130km on undulating, heavy roads north of Newcastle.
Jake had won on the same roads earlier this year, so we were hoping for another victory. The field was pretty strong with riders from OnePro, Brother NRG, Catford all looking for some late season glory.
A group of 6 riders escaped early, containing 2 Brother NRG riders. We had slipped up by not putting a rider in this group. The lads made amends and 3 of them made the chase group of 12 riders. This 12 man group would chase hard and join the front 6. Then the attacking and selection process began.
Joe made the decisive split of 7 riders which went on to contest the finish, whilst Charlie and Liam covered the goup behind.
Joe finished 4th, no win but a solid result and some great team work. Charlie 10th, liam 11th.
